Need more hours in the day, to keep up with blog updates… Here’s the news from September for Triple Colossal Studios:

Indie Studio Drummer’s Dylan Wissing is featured in a two-page spread in the November issue of Modern Drummer Magazine.

The Woodshed piece talks about Wissing’s work with artists such as Alicia Keys, Drake and Kanye West, as well as his tracking methods for producer Ken Lewis and independent clients. Lots of pictures of the studio and gear, too.

Working with composer Morgan Visconti for Human Worldwide, Wissing tracked drums for the latest Valvoline Motor Oil commercial. Tight deadline, the specs called for “Black Sabbath / Ted Nugent drums circa 1972.” Check out the video here:

Kanye Gold

Finally, Kanye’s Yeezus has been confirmed Gold! Wissing plays on the lead track, “On Sight,” produced by Daft Punk. Triple Colossal Drum Tech/Assistant Engineer Matt Teitelman plays percussion on the same track (and both drums and percussion were tracked here). A plaque is on the way for studio bling…
